I hope that you have all had a great week of Christmas festivities with family and friends, and have mostly managed to switch off work. Enjoy the last few days of the holidays.
To kick off the New Year why not sign up to some off season Cross Country? The cut off is tonight for the next race at Horspath on 8th January – sign up here for EA membership and here for the entry form if you haven’t signed up so far this season. Captain Kelly is looking for a volunteer Marshall for the morning, drop an email to chair@oxfordtri.co.uk if you are free and able to help out, and since it’s our local race there is also a lunch social afterwards.
Today marks my final newsletter after two years in post. What was meant to be a project to give something back to the Club and fill a post Kona void ended up being a mitigation effort as Covid hit and sporadic lockdowns prevented planning face to face events and training for much of the time. However I am very pleased that the Club has weathered the storm in reasonably good shape, and it’s has been really great to return to a bit of boring normal and see the Club membership numbers gradually pick up. We are still quite behind our pre-Covid peak but as of today are now up to 190 paid members. A massive thanks to everybody who has helped either in committee roles, volunteering to help organise ad hoc events, and of course our wonderful coaching team. However ultimately what makes the Club is our membership community, so thank you all too for your participation – active, minor or merely lurking!
From now on I wish the new Committee the very best for 2023 and a final thank you to Craig for agreeing to take on the Chair role.
