Hello OxfordTri family
I hope that this finds you well in amongst the madness that is Christmas.
Some especially important news to share this week with regards to the club governance. As I’m sure many of you will be aware I’ve taken the decision to step back from the Chair role due to future plans which will involve moving away from Oxford.
Over the past two years it has been an absolute privilege to represent the club as Chair and I feel like we have achieved some incredibly important things. Too many to name. Some small and unseen by many, others much more noticeable such as new sessions, new gazebos and new partnerships. None of this would have been possible without the amazing members of the committee both this year and last, who’ve made these things happen. And to you our community of swim, bike, run loving friends. Who continue to be the best of OxfordTri in so many different ways. From winning performances, to minor improvements, to smiley faces and taking on those tough races. Many of you have been part of helping literally thousands of people enjoying all or part of the sport that we love. So thank you!
Moving forward Sean Nicolle with the support of the Executive Committee will be taking up the Chair role on an interim basis. This will start with immediate effect as we look towards an incredibly exciting 2025 for the club. I hope that you will join with me in supporting Sean and the rest of the committee as they continue to work incredibly hard to support the ongoing development of the club. I’m not going anywhere immediately and will be still around the club, coaching and hopefully trying to regain some form of fitness in order to take part in some of our series events in 2025.
If I don’t see you at a session before then I hope you have a Merry Christmas.
God Bless
Craig

OxfordTri Members Night
We’ve teased this for a couple of weeks now but we are delighted to share that Kieran Lindars will be our special guest for our Members Evening on the 30th of January.
Kieran has had an exceptional year which included a 2nd place finish at the Ironman European Championships in Frankfurt in what was an incredibly competitive field. This result propelled him to Hawaii where he finished 8th in the world on the island.
Do check out his instagram to see just how amazing his journey has been – https://www.instagram.com/kieranlindars/
He is world class and we are delighted that he is going to be helping lead our track session from 7-8pm and then taking part in a Q&A as part of our members social afterwards.
We will have a sign up for both the track session and the social afterwards so do keep an eye out for those!
