Hello OxfordTri Family!
I hope that this finds you well. It’s been great to see the sessions continuing to be full and a special thanks to those who have shared when they have had to drop out of a session that is full. This is great practice and I would encourage you to do this where possible.
Secondly, we are continuing to crack on with organising our Aquathlon. This is a super exciting time for the club as running such as this event aligns significantly with our values of Inclusion, Empowerment and Togetherness.
Finally, I’ve signed up for my first event of the year a Cross Triathlon in May. My hope is that this will be the inspiration I need to get back into the swim of things. Track last night was definitely a sign that there is much training to do however it’s great to be able to come to these sessions with great coaching and great community too.
I look forward to seeing you at a session soon
God Bless
Craig
Oxford Aquathlon
We have shared over the past couple of weeks about our Aquathlon that we are partnering with British Triathlon and their “Swim Bike Run” program to run here in Oxford at the Leys Pool and Park.
The Aquathlon will take place on the 28th of April with racing starting at 9am. The format is a 200m Pool Swim and 3km Run. The entry will cost £20 making it an incredibly accessible event to our local community of Oxford and beyond.

There are two things that we really love your help with at the moment. This is publicity and volunteering.
Firstly publicity, to make this event happen we need people and to get people we need to get the news out about our event. Our publicity team are doing an amazing job however much of our content only goes to you our members as you are those following us on social media. This is where we would love it if you were able to share some of the things that we put up on our instagram or Facebook page.
At the moment we are running a small give away for some places in the event for people who like our post, tag a friend and share it to their profile. We’ve dropped the art work here too but if you have social media why not get involved and enter yourself!

Secondly, to make the event happen we need an army of volunteers we are estimating roughly 20 people on the day. So that we can start planning we have a volunteer signup link where you can sign up as someone who is interested in volunteering on the day. Volunteering is an amazing way to give back to the club and local sporting community. Do sign up below if you think you’d be able to help out.

Update Your Details
We have recently updated the website which has resulted in a number of things being reset and then the update has allowed us to add some things which we hope will enhance your experience as members. As a result we are asking all members to go to the ‘My Profile’ page on the website when logged in and to update the information which is on this page. Part of this includes our Emergency Contact Details which I’m sure you will agree are vital to be kept up to date. You can used the following link to go straight to that page – My Profile
The OxfordTri Series 2024
Last week we announced the launch of our OxfordTri Series 2024. More details about the series can be found HERE.
Again we wanted to highlight the first race of the series which is the Sprint Duathlon which forms part of the Chilly Duathlon. It’s been part of our club race calendar for years and in fact was our Chair Craig’s first ever multi-sport event which he took part in whilst at uni.
It is a very flat and beginner friendly course. The run takes place round the permitted of the race track at Castle Combe Race Track with the bike then taking you onto the race track. We can promise you that it will likely be the best road surface you’ll cycle on all year round.
As a club we have managed to secure a 10% discount which can be found in your Partners and Discount Section when logged into the website
