Weekly Update 5 June 2021

Hi Everyone

The racing season is starting to get into full swing this weekend – good luck to everybody competing in the Cotswold 113 on Sunday and at the Leeds WTS. As ever, please feel free to post race reports and any action pictures of Club kit on display are always especially welcome!

With the past week of warm weather the lake temperature has shot up from 15 degrees to over 19 now. It was a full session this morning and the temperature was perfect. Great to see some new faces getting trained up for safety duties, and it was fun practising at being a ‘struggling swimmer’ for them! And for those who don’t fancy the lake some great news with our regular slot at Kidlington coming back on stream next week. Please do sign up promptly for lakeside safety, we can’t run all of these sessions without all of our amazing volunteers and it’s no fun for Liz to have to nag everybody each week.

With racing and better weather there has not been very much demand for the rider led Club rides recently. We have a late one going out tomorrow, but collectively the ride leaders are looking at demand and what members are looking for from the Club. We have our June committee meeting coming up on Monday so if there’s any feedback or anything else that you’d like me to raise then just drop me a note.

Finally, thanks again to Kelly for organising the social cross-country and pub lunch last Sunday. I was away for the Bank Holiday but I did some great pictures indicating some people may have had a little too much fun!
